Diaper Rash Cream – A product review

It’s amazing how a new birth is celebrated equally in every culture across the globe. With the baby, come in so many hopes and dreams for the parents. In their hands lies a bundle full of joy but not without a heightened sense of responsibility. I remember how with both my kids, my husband did not take them in his hands until they were atleast 15-20 days old. His reason was same at both the instances , “He’s too tiny! I’m afraid I may cause harm to this fragile little thing” he quipped and added, “Hats off to you mothers, who take up this gigantic task of taking care of this tiny life, who is solely dependent on you for his physical needs.”

I have had both my babies in the summer season, when I did not have to worry much about keeping them warm and cozy until they were a good 6-7 months. But infants in summers have their own problems, especially if you stay in an extremely humid weather. Through my experience I can say that the most impacted is their skin, which is said to be much softer and sensitive than us adults’. Use of nappies and diapers combined with the dampness, can cause rashes which if not tended to, can turn into serious skin infection.

I recently observed red marks and rashes in my younger one’s groin and the area where the diaper edges touch the skin. Just by looking at them I could feel the discomfort they may have been causing my little munchkin. But I was very skeptical about using any cream on his sensitive skin. I thus decided to go natural and use Himalaya BabyCare’s Diaper Rash cream which contains natural products such as Aloe Vera and Almond Oil. Both these ingredients are known to have a soothing and healing effect on the skin.

The extracts from the Five-Leaf Chaste Tree keep the skin dry and help the infection heal faster.

I made sure that I applied Himalaya BabyCare’s Diaper Rash cream daily before putting on and after removing the diaper after a long night. It helped that I use cloth nappies during the day, but applying Himalaya BabyCare’s Diaper Rash cream helped the rashes heal within 2-3 days. I have continued to use the Diaper-rash cream so as to avoid any further infection or itching to the skin.

Upon further reading I found that the Himalaya BabyCare’s Diaper Rash cream is full of goodness of natural and organic ingredients –
1) Natural Zinc keeps baby’s skin dry as well as helps rashes heal. It is also known to have antiseptic and astringent properties.
2) Almond Oil is an excellent skin softener, which moisturizes baby’s skin.
3) Aloe Vera is used extensively in Ayurveda for wounds, burns, dermatitis and other skin ailments. It soothes and moisturizes baby’s skin. It acts as an antibacterial agent and an astringent, which accelerates the healing of baby’s skin.
4) Five-Leaved Chaste Tree contains anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antifungal properties. It is useful in the treatment of sores and skin infections.

All of these protect your baby’s skin from itchiness and render it the softness that every child deserves.
