Karma Of Success – KarmicFitness #3

posted by Anupriya September 25, 2018 2 Comments

For a long period of time, while my husband was a struggling aspiring entrepreneur, he chose to remain off social media (read Facebook). I often mocked him for his ignorance, yet probed him to understand his reasons. I mean, why would one decide to remain ignorant of one platform that was his only window to his social circle (at that time). One day, after 7 years of marriage, he finally decided to open up.

“Look dear! I am struggling with my profession right now. We havn’t been on a decent vacation for last 5 years. And I know that you are craving for one. With two kids, to take care of, life seems a little tough at this juncture. When I open my facebook, I see all happy faces having an awesome life. I know that’s not the complete picture. People mostly put up only the bright side of their lives on their walls. but it does make me cringe and wonder that I may not be doing enough for my family. Or feel desparate about ‘when will my time to enjoy life come’. It’s not a good feeling. I can feel negativity seep into my conscience. So, I’d rather stay away from it.” Continue Reading

Never Lie To Your Kids – #KarmicFitness

posted by Anupriya September 12, 2018 5 Comments

In the first post of this four post series of ‘Karmic Fitness’ theme this month, I told you about how one needs to train oneself at three levels (physical, mental and emotional) to not criticize others and appreciate them genuinely. Why it is very important to sow the seeds of appreciation and non-criticism to reap similar fruits. You can read about my endeavor to practice this aspect of karma here.

After completing the challenges of week 1 of the Karmic fitness program I was kind of prepared for any kind of task in the coming week. After all as a highly opinionated person, I have consciously begun to refrain from even mentally criticizing anyone. Any other task, I presumed, would surely be a cake walk in comparison. Or so I thought! I guess the universe is hell bent on proving me wrong. Continue Reading

Headed For Change – #GratitudeCircle August 2018

posted by Anupriya September 7, 2018 11 Comments

The month of August saw me featured as an author on two blogs. It was like a dream come true for me. Though still an amateur, I find pride and pleasure in now introducing myself as an Author to the new people I meet.

Post AtoZ Challenge , the ebook launch, the mandatory book reviews etc. August found me a little tired and in need of a detox break. All through June and July I was over whelmed by the various blogging campaigns. So August’18 saw the least number of blog posts and least participation in various bloggers groups. Thankfully I have come out refreshed and ready to take on the DADDY of all challenges in September’18 i.e. The #MyFriendAlexa challenge. For a change I am not going prompt on this channel and have restricted myself to the premises of two themes – Karmic Fitness and Book Reviews. Read more about the themes here.

Karmic Fitness – Do Not Criticize Others, Appreciate Them

posted by Anupriya September 4, 2018 94 Comments

The Google Dictionary Defines Karma as the sum of a person’s actions in this and previous states of existence (re-incarnations), viewed as deciding their fate in future existences

When I decided to follow the Karmic Fitness program by Neha Jain of GMCKS Lightworkers, I did not fathom the exact extent of hard work it would be. After all I am a god fearing person who lives life by certain principles and values that include – do good, never harm anyone, do not cheat and believe in hard work. How difficult would it be to fit into a Karmic test and come out unscathed. But boy! I couldn’t have been more wrong. Continue Reading

No Time to Breathe – #GratitudeCircle June’18

posted by Anupriya July 18, 2018 1 Comment

The month of June’18 was one of the most hectic months in a long time. I faced several personal challenges in the face of a minor surgery, kids’ summer vacations, time running short for preparing for an important exam I took in the first week of July and much more on the relationships front.  I have been scathed, yet come out whole but transformed. And I am grateful to the almighty for the same, because I in my heart I believe that whatever happened was for good.

With kids at home for the entire month, I faced the challenge of keeping them entertained round the clock. I did a fairly good job of engaging them in a variety of activities without too much preparation. The activities that I chose for the kids to keep themselves busy, were more like life skills that will go a long way in making them independent. Phew! My pursuit to balance various roles as a mother, home-maker, blogger is turning out be quite an adventure this month. Yet keeping my grit, here’s the fifth post of the seven post series where I am sharing my experiences from the two Half Marathons that I ran last season and trying to draw some analogies from my experience to live a happier life. The Marathon and Cheering

I often saw it in movies. The sight of artists exhibiting their talents on the streets in foreign lands made a very appealing sight to me. But nothing had prepared me for the adrenaline rush that it gives when you are privy to such a performance in real. Like live! These performers obviously have their benefits in mind while they cheer others, yet it all feels +very noble to me. Why? Becasue at that point of time, it made me feel important.  Also it felt like I was a part of something big, something significant enough to make the morning a different one from routine. How Running Together Made A Difference

I have shared with you how I struggled to the finishing line during my first Marathon. But to my shock, my dear husband was struggling even more. While I was hardly jogging my way through, he was able to catch up with me only half way through. He was on the verge of giving up now. But I held his hand and led him ahead. Continue Reading
